NEW YORK -- Twin boys born conjoined at the head have now been successfully separated.

Jadon and Anias McDonald were successfully separated by doctors at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.

The 13-month-old twins were separated after nearly 17 hours of surgery.

They are only the 59th craniopagus separation surgery in the world since 1952.

More than 20 medical professionals took part in the boys' surgeries over the last two days.
