Four managers at the Administration for Children's Services have been suspended after a 6-year-old boy was beaten to death in Harlem.

In a statement, the city's child welfare agency says an assistant commissioner and a borough commissioner in its child protective division have been removed from their positions for 30 days without pay.

A director and an assistant director in its general counsel's office are also suspended.

The agency says it continues to conduct its review into the case of Zymere Perkins. He died last month after his mother's boyfriend, 42-year old Rysheim Smith, allegedly beat him with a broomstick.

ACS has come under fire for not following up on five warnings that the boy was being abused.

The agency says it has concerns about supervision of the staff overseeing the Perkins family.

ACS announced last week that five other workers involved in the case were put on desk duty. It says it's conducting an audit into their practices.

Smith and the boy's mother, Geraldine Perkins, are charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
