Friends and family pay tribute to an anti-gun violence advocate from Brooklyn who was shot to death in Miami over the weekend.

Hundreds gathered outside of the Crown Heights Community Mediation Center to mourn Lavon Walker.

The 30-year old helped found the anti-gun violence group "Save Our Streets Crown Heights" in 2010.

Police say he was shot twice outside a restaurant in Miami Beach Sunday morning.

"He was a man that was about the people," said one friend. "He was a man out here for his people, saving his people an dhe lost his life to the same thing that he was out here fighting against."

Multiple reports out of Florida say two people are in police custody in connection with the shooting.

Meanwhile, Walker's funeral will be held Sunday.
