NEW YORK - A Brooklyn man was arrested Friday for allegedly snatching money from an elderly woman inside a Manhattan store.

Police say surveillance video shows 26-year-old Broyoan Lopez taking an envelope full of cash from 93-year-old Maria Vasquez on Wednesday afternoon.

Lopez is now facing charges of robbery, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

Authorities say it happened at Regines on East 116th Street and Third Avenue in East Harlem.

The store's manager told us Vasquez is a regular customer and said he wanted to do more to help her out.

"We felt so bad about the incident," the manager said. "I called her in, I told her to come in, we're going to give her back the money, and also, I'm going to buy her those shoes. So we gave her the shoes in the end, so she was happy. She got happy, and she said she will always be coming here still."

A friend of Vasquez says she suffered some minor pain in her chest and wrist from the incident, but is now doing fine.
