Let's go...Pizza Rats?

The Staten Island Yankees are changing their name - and one of the names under consideration is "Pizza Rats."

The minor league club says it received more than 2,000 submissions in its "Name the Team" contest, and "Pizza Rats" was one of the top five vote-getters.

It appears to a homage to the rat seen tugging a slice of pizza in a subway station in a video that went viral.

The other finalists in the contest are the Staten Island Bridge Trolls, the Staten Island Heroes, the Staten Island Killer Bees and the Staten Island Rock Pigeons.

Fans can vote for their favorite over the next two weeks at siyanks.com/rebrand.

The Staten Island Yankees are a farm team of the New York Yankees, but the close association with the Bronx Bombers is a turnoff for Mets fans who live in the borough. So officials of the minor league club embarked on a rebranding that will include a new name.

A team official told NY1 Thursday evening the result of the fan vote will "more or less" be binding. Of the five names, the one that gets the most votes will be the team's new name for the 2017 season, the official said.
