The rebuilding of Lower Manhattan took another step forward Thursday with the opening of the final two platforms at the World Trade Center PATH station.

The new additions give the Port Authority more flexibility in running trains.

Commuters who spoke with NY1 say they're happy with the upgrade.

"Oh, I love this. The new platform, that was never there--on the other side. I've been coming here for seven years, so this was my original track that I came in Track 5, no platform and I think it's great. It's beautiful. They did a great job here," said one commuter.

"I like it. Like the way it looks, it's nice, it's clean, it's good," added another commuter.

There are now a total of five PATH platforms at the trade center transportation hub.
