Outgoing Police Commissioner William Bratton on Wednesday weighed in on the deadly shootings at the J'ouvert festival.

In one of those incidents, police say 20-year-old Regenald Moise fired the shot that killed 22-year-old Tiarah Poyau. Moise is facing a second-degree murder charge.

Mayor Bill de Blasio says the festivities will not be canceled next year.

Bratton says J'ouvert presents different problems than other city celebrations because it takes place early in the morning and in a dangerous neighborhood.

"The problem we've been experiencing throughout its history is really the gun-related violence that also occurs within a neighborhood that unfortunately, through the history of the city, has been plagued by gang violence and gun violence and still remains one of the most significant crime-prone areas," Bratton said.

The NYPD is still looking for the person who killed 17-year-old Tyreke Borel in a separate shooting.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
