A Rikers Island Department of Correction captain is accused of assaulting a female correction officer.
The Department of Investigation says 33-year-old Captain Timothy Cowen grabbed the woman while she was looking for a log book last January.
Cowen, who's been with the department for nearly 10 years, faces forcible touching, sexual abuse and harassment charges.
If convicted, he could spend about a year behind bars.
The DOI says Cowen abused his power and that it does not tolerate lawlessness on Rikers Island.
