The MTA says it's addressing complaints from 1 train riders about air conditioning problems along the subway line.
The Transit Authority's Twitter feed has been swamped for months with gripes from overheated riders about the so-called "hot cars."
But MTA chairman Tom Prendergast says relief is on the way.
"They're scheduled for a scheduled maintenance system overhaul of the air conditioning systems and I believe they're scheduled to be done now. And they have been scheduled for a period of time. The fact that increased failures occurred - not withstanding the fact that it was a very hot summer - it still should handle, we still should meet the demands created by weather," Prendergast said.
The subway cars generating the most air-conditioning complaints are more than 30 years old.
