SAN ANTONIO – Metro Health officials have confirmed a new case of Zika.

The count is up to 15 cases in the city and all have been travel related.

Zika is particularly harmful for pregnant women as it can lead to miscarriages and serious birth defects.

The virus only causes mild symptoms and most people might not realize they've been infected.

Zika is also sexually transmitted.

Men and women who have traveled to a Zika-affected area should be abstinent or use protection consistently for up to six months afterwards.
