Want to boldly go where no fan has gone before?

Trekkies of all ages can head to the Javits Center this weekend for "Star Trek: Mission New York."

Humans, Vulcans, Klingons, and other species are celebrating 50 years of the beloved sci-fi franchise.

Among the highlights: interactive exhibits, exclusive merchandise, and special screenings.

There are also celebrity panels with former and current Enterprise crew members, including Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner.

"The first 'Star Trek' convention was in New York in 1972. This is the 50th anniversary, so why not bring it full circle?" said Matt Wasowski, the content director of ReedPOP. "Where better to celebrate than here in the Big Apple?"

"We're huge 'Star Trek' fans, so we said, 'This is the perfect way to kind of meld the minds a little bit and hold a convention in the city where the first 'Star Trek' convention was,'" said Brian Jacks, the senior producer of digital content for ReedPOP.

Star Trek: Mission New York runs until Sunday.
