Police are investigating after a Muslim woman's shirt was set on fire in Midtown last week.

They say the 35-year-old woman was wearing traditional Muslim clothing and walking down the street when she noticed something warm on her sleeve.

She saw her blouse was on fire and patted out the flames.

The woman told police she saw a man with a lighter standing near her and he ran off.

It happened at around 9 p.m. last Saturday on East 54th Street between Fifth and Madison Avenues.

Police say the man they are looking for in the case was captured on surveillance video.

He's seen wearing a black tank top, jeans and sneakers.

No arrests have been made.

The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating.
