Several top players will take the court at the U.S. Open today.

The Williams sisters are scheduled to play their first matches of the tournament, and men's second seed Andy Murray is set to play tonight.

Last night at Arthur Ashe Stadium, Phil Collins performed his hit song "In the Air Tonight" as the the arena's new retractable roof opened to reveal the night sky.

After the opening ceremony, men's top seed and two-time Open champ Novak Djokovic won his first round match in four sets.

Earlier in the day fellow two-time champion Rafael Nadal won his first match in straight sets.

On the women's side last night, 8th seed Madison Keys needed three sets to defeat fellow American Alison Riske.

Second seed Angelique Kerber also won her first round match when leg cramps forced her opponent to leave in the second set.

Aside from the action on the court, there's a lot of buzz around the souvenirs.

Lots of merchandise is up for grabs from hats to t-shirts, towels, water bottles and even giant tennis balls.

Several athletic wear companies such as Nike, Adidas and Ralph Lauren have their own stalls at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Don't forget, NY1 anchor Pat Kiernan Kiernan is swapping the news desk for the tennis court this week.

He'll have special reports from the U.S. Open every day starting at 7 a.m.
