Police are investigating an alleged attempted kidnapping during a special event at the U.S. Open.

The NYPD says an 11-year-old girl and her family were watching players practice on Saturday afternoon when a man grabbed her wrist and threatened to hurt her if she didn't go with him.

Police say she pulled her arm free and kicked the man, who ran off.

The girl was not hurt.

Police describe the man as between 25 and 35 years old. They say he was wearing a red shirt with stripes, khaki shorts and sunglasses. He also has a tattoo with words on his right wrist.

Police say the man in a photo released Sunday has been ruled out as a suspect in the case.
