Investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire just a block away from Citi Field in Queens.

Flames broke out at a junkyard just before 5 p.m. Friday at 38th Avenue and 126th Street.

Thick plumes of smoke billowed into the sky, backing up traffic in the area and alarming fans arriving for the Mets game.

The fire was put out in about an hour.

Two firefighters had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

No one was else was hurt.
