The U.S. Open is not just about the matches. For many tennis lovers, it's also about the food. NY1's Ruschell Boone has more on what some of the chefs are dishing up.

The food is almost as important as the matches at the U.S Open, and tennis lovers will have a lot to choose from this year.

"We have 17 new stands, and they are complementing over 80 different stands throughout the grounds," said Daniel Zausner, chief operating officer at the USTA National Tennis Center.

And what most are serving up is a foodie's dream. For the first time this year, there will be a vegan and vegetarian concession. They're hoping to court the players as well.

"It's so exciting for us, and hopefully as well for the guests coming to the open, because a lot of the players, if you look, they are on special diets which are vegetarian and gluten free. So we want all of them to come on by," said Sharon Bridbord, head of special events at Soom Soom.

But if you're looking for something meaty, clothes line bacon and a few of the steaks were a hit. So were the seafood plates. And much of the selection included dishes from different parts of the world.

At the U.S. Open, tennis fans can eat everything from Indian food to Spanish food and Korean.

"With so many fans coming from throughout the country and throughout the world, we want to make sure that's interesting and appealing to everybody," Zausner said.

A number of celebrity chefs, including David Burke, are also adding to the pot with some of their signature dishes. Most of the ingredients for the food at the Open are locally sourced.

"We have three concepts at the US Open this year," Burke said. "We have BLT Prime by David Burke, which is a combination of the BLT Steak and David Burke Restaurants in New York City. We also have two fast-casual sections. One is called Angry Taco and BLT Fish Shack.

But if you just want a burger, you certainly can get it. It's still a fan favorite. Officials here say more than 750,000 of them were sold last year.
