Police are trying to find the man who tried to rape and rob a woman at knifepoint in Brooklyn this past weekend.

Investigators say the man approached a 24-year-old woman in Bedford-Stuyvesant Just before 6 a.m. Sunday morning and displayed a knife.

He told her to follow him, leading her to an alley on Louis Place near Atlantic Avenue.

That's where he groped and put his mouth on the woman, who fought back against her attacker.

Eventually the man stole her cell phone and ran away.

"It's frightening because I got kids that live near here also, and somebody walking up like this and basically, most people not hearing about it, makes it even worse again. It's really a safe block, and nothing really happens around here, so I'm surprised to see it," said one neighborhood resident.

Police describe him as being in his 30s and having a moustache.
