WASHINGTON - Congress is calling for more information on why the price of EpiPens is climbing.

The life-saving autoinjector is used to protect people who have severe allergic reactions to things like bee stings and peanuts.

An EpiPen can cost hundreds of dollars. It was just $60 a decade ago.

New York Rep. Grace Meng is among the lawmakers questioning the hike. She says it may be a case of "price-gouging" and is calling for a hearing to find out why the cost is rising.

EpiPens are one of the most widely used treatments for severe allergic reactions.
