Chomp champ Joey Chestnut reclaimed the Mustard Belt with a vengeance Monday at the annual Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney island.

Crowds cheered loudly as the highly anticipated dogfight unfolded between the now nine-time champ and Matt Stonie.

The 32-year-old shattered the world record, scarfing down 70 hot dogs in 10 minutes.

He had lost the belt last year in an upset to Stonie, who just couldn’t catch up this year with 53 frankfurters.

"I slowed down because I wanted to hit 70 and do it safe. He knows I have room for more if he wants to get better and push me next year. But it was a great contest, a great crowd. A great day," Chestnut said.

In the women’s division, defending champion Miki Sudo won the chow down.

Sudo shoveled in 38 and a half hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.

The Las Vegas champion has won the contest for the last two years.

"I feel like a rush of relief just to know I won, everything went smoothly as planned. Of course I'm full. I don't have plans to eat anytime soon, let's put it that way," Sudo said.

Organizers say thousands of people came out to Coney Island for the Fourth of July tradition.
