Friday morning's heavy rains have led to flooding in some parts of the city, including in Gowanus, where one flooded street is causing problems for drivers.

Although the water has receded in the past hour, water has collected from the heavy rain this morning, more than a pond's worth.

Cars have gotten stuck in the flooding in Gowanus, and one man who works at a local garage said this is a perpetual event whenever it rains, something people in the area get used to.

"Every time it rains, full moon, high tide, early morning, the Gowanus comes over, and that's it, the streets flood," he said. "Can't driver through it. You have to wait for it to go down again."
