Three men are in custody after they allegedly drove away from the scene of a fatal shooting in The Bronx and then crashed into a police car, according to the city police department.

Investigators said that around 2 a.m. Saturday, Earl Simmons, 24, was shot in the head near Anderson Avenue and 164th Street in Highbridge.

Simmons was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said three men drove off from the scene but did not get very far.

They T-boned a police car just two blocks away, according to the police report.

Police said the men tried to run off, but they were caught.

The two police officers in the car that was T-boned were treated for minor injuries.

Police said a gun was recovered near the scene.
