The Broadway smash-hit "Hamilton" is the inspiration behind a solo art show in Boerum Hill.

Brooklyn-born artist Danielle DeJesus began with a simple painting of Lin-Manuel Miranda on a $10 bill.

From there, she began painting influential people and pop culture icons of color onto real currency.

DeJesus says she chose money as her canvas because it grabs peoples' attention.

"I think it's because people stop and they're like well you know it's like a dollar bill, it's something that people cherish so much you know and so I think it makes them look and it makes them really look and wanna learn more about who the person is and I wanted to represent our people, people of color," DeJesus said.

DeJesus's work will be on display at the Grumpy Bert art gallery until August 14.
