It was a "star-studded" celebration at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. The museum hosted its 5th Annual Space and Science Festival.

This year's event was centered around the ways new technology is transforming science fiction into fact, including an exhibit centered around "Star Trek".

Organizers seem just as enthusiastic about the interactive exhibits as people visiting the museum.

"Last night we had the lead scientist of the Juno mission to Jupiter! What could be more exciting than that?” said Ellen Silverman, Director of Public Programs for the museum.

"You can go and sit in a space capsule and experience what the people who would go in there get to do," said one young visitor.

"The kids are driving the submarines, looking in the periscope, they can touch everything. It's a lot of fun for the whole family," added a parent.

The festival runs through today. For more information, go to www.intrepidmuseum.org.
