NY1 VIDEO: A Brooklyn neighborhood with overcrowded schools is fighting a plan to build a new school, because it might require demolishing a landmark building. The windows are boarded up. Graffiti is scrawled on the walls. It's surrounded by fencing and scaffolding. This abandoned police stationhouse has been deteriorating for decades. Now there's talk of tearing it down to build a school.

Many residents are upset, saying it's a historic building important to the community, not to mention an official city landmark. Borough reporter Jeanine Ramirez explains.
