Some tiny wheels are racing into the crossroads of the world.

Around 250 Boy Scouts from around the country came out to Times Square for the 2nd annual Pinewood Derby World Championship.

They sent hand-crafted wooden racecars rolling down a 45-foot race track, competing for the speediest set of wheels.

9-year-old Anthony Solimando was one of many eager racers to put his wheels to the test.

"I'm hoping I either win like second or third. First, I'm going to be so happy if I do. I'm going to be so lucky," said Solimando

"They work really hard throughout the year just to get their car up to par and they race it amongst themselves and amongst their districts and once they win that they get to come here to the world championship Pinewood Derby," said Jeffrey Tejeda, District Executive of the Boy Scouts of America.

"It's better to have the weight in the back so it brings the car down so when it goes on the flat level surface, it won't change. Like it won't affect it," said another participant.

Solimando won second place. He's been a Boy Scout for 3 years, and won the Staten Island Derby two years ago.

Solimando suffers for Sensory Processing Disorder, which means his brain has difficulty receiving and responding to information from his senses.
