A house under construction that is part of the city's Build it Back program collapsed in Brooklyn.

It happened around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday on Beacon Court in Gerritsen Beach.

The single-family house was one of many still under construction nearly four years after Hurricane Sandy.

No one was hurt.

Neighbors say the collapse makes them wonder if the work is being done properly.

"I really thought when I was coming home today and I saw all the ambulances and the fire trucks right in the middle of when it was happening, I really thought it could have been my own house and it could of had my kids in it and my family in it," said one resident.

"You had a contractor working in it. Why did it collapse?" said state Senator Martin Golden of Brooklyn. "So now the contractor is seizing operation until architects and engineers inspect all of these properties tomorrow and the next day to make sure that there are no other flaws going on."

The collapsed house is a total loss, and construction will have to start again from scratch.

The city is investigating.
