New Yorkers will not have to go far to enjoy some great outdoor music this season.

Forest Hills Stadium kicks off its summer concert series Thursday night with folk rock band Mumford and Sons.

The former site of the U.S. Open has a long history of hosting music, with iconic performers such as the Beatles and Bob Dylan playing there in the 1960s.

Organizers credit Mumford & Sons with helping to revitalize the 14,000 seat stadium when they played there back in 2013.

"It's become a focal point for our neighborhood and its brought so much publicity to the Forest Hills area, and it's been a wonderful experience for out members," said West Side Tennis Club President Angela Martin.

"Without the Mumford and Sons guys taking a chance three years ago, no doubt we would not be here today, and for them to come back for two fully sold-out nights is amazing," said Mike Luba of Madison House Presents.

Bob Dylan and Paul Simon will return to play the stadium this summer, along with Dolly Parton and Flight of the Conchords.

NY1 is the exclusive media sponsor of the venue.
