Police are investigating an attempted robbery a check cashing store in Brooklyn earlier this week.

The NYPD says the two men entered a Pay-O-Matic on Bushwick Avenue in Cypress Hills just after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday and passed a note demanding money to the cashier.

Police say one of the men sprayed an unknown liquid through the glass partition and threw batteries wrapped with tape at the glass.

They allegedly threatened to set the store on fire and blow it up if their demands were not met.

But the cashier refused to give them money, and they ran away.
