Five teenagers were hospitalized after being shot at a Brooklyn playground Monday afternoon.

It happened at the Harry Maze playground on Avenue D near East 56th Street in East Flatbush just before 5 p.m.

Investigators say another teen between the ages of 17 and 20 walked up to the group and opened fire, before running off.

The victims, ranging in age from 15 to 17 were all taken to the hospital where they are expected to recover.

One neighbor described the scene.

"We heard the kids screaming, yelling and running and when I looked I realized somebody really got shot and they were laying on the ground and I picked the phone up to call 911 and in the process of calling when I realized the kid was laying on the ground I just dropped the phone and just ran to help," the neighbor said. "They were really scared a lot of them were crying."

Police say they believe the incident stemmed from a dispute over an MCM backpack.

The alleged shooter was last seen wearing a red shirt and jeans.

No arrests have been made.
