Three straphangers came to the rescue of a man who fell onto subway tracks in Manhattan on Friday, according to fire department officials, before a train pulled into the station.

As seen on Gothamist.com, shortly after 2 p.m., according to the city fire department, the three men jumped into action and hoisted the injured man back onto the platform before they helped each other back up as well.

An R train arrived two minutes later.

The man's injuries were serious but not life threatening, fire department authorities said.
