This week's summer-like weather may have helped Citi Bike ride into the record books.

The bike-sharing service says it broke its daily ridership record on Wednesday, when 53,215 people took the bikes out for a spin.

That also happened to be city's warmest day since last fall.

The previous record of 52,706 riders was set last September 24.

Citi Bike officials say overall ridership is up 110 percent over the past year.

That number is expected to grow this summer when new docking stations are installed in northern Manhattan and new parts of Brooklyn.
