The unofficial start of summer is Monday but New Yorkers are getting a preview today.

Temperatures are expected to soar into the high 80s and stay that way into the holiday weekend.

After weeks of unusually chilly temperatures, people are soaking up the sun, and showing off their summer duds.

"I didn't think it was never gonna come, but its here now and its here to stay," said one sun soaker in Manhattan's Bryant Park.

"April was so nice. I got really excited that it was going to get warm and then May was horrible. So I guess it's nice that it's finally, finally seems to be warming up for good," said another park goer.

An Air Quality Health Advisory is also in effect today, meaning people with respiratory problems should exercise caution.
