Police are looking for a man who they say tried to rape a woman early Wednesday morning while she was jogging in Brooklyn's Prospect Park.

They say it happened around 5:20 a.m. in Prospect Park near Garfield Place.

Investigators say the man depicted above attacked a 23-year-old woman while she was jogging.

They say he came up to her from behind with a knife, threw her to the ground and told her he was going to sexually assault her.

Police say she resisted and the man ran off.

Residents say they usually feel safe in the area, but the incident concerns them.

"As a female who actually jogs at this park, I am greatly concerned," said one resident. "Usually, I come here after work with my co-workers, so it's usually a lot of people that's running in the park."

"It's terrifying," said another. "It's always scary crimes against women and things like that. So I'm just glad she got away, and I guess I'll just have to be more vigilant in the park."

Police say the man is around 6 feet tall and was wearing a black sweatsuit.
