The state is now expanding its Zika Virus testing to all pregnant women with a sex partner who has traveled to one of the affected areas.

All pregnant woman who have had unprotected sex with a person that's been to a Zika hot spot can get tested for free.

The move comes as the state's Health Department investigates one possible case of Zika Virus through sexual transmission in New York.

The state already offers free testing to pregnant women who have traveled to areas where the virus is known to be spreading.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is reporting increasing numbers of Zika cases transmitted through sexual intercourse.

The outbreak has been prevalent in much of Latin America; where the disease is being spread primarily through mosquito bites.

The disease has been active in at least 34 countries.
