New York City is the place to be, with a record numbers of tourists expected to visit this year.

NYC and Company is projecting the city will welcome 59.7 million tourists in 2016.

That would shatter last year's record of 58.3 million - and mark the city's seventh consecutive record-breaking year in tourism.

In a statement, Mayor Bill de Blasio said, "It is not surprising -- but still exciting -- to know that 2016 will be yet another record breaking year for tourism. I thank the businesses, artists and all New Yorkers who continue to make our city an attractive place for people around the world to continue visiting."
