A Brooklyn man has been indicted for allegedly shooting two city police officers last month.
Fredrick Funes, 34, pleaded not guilty to dozens of charges including attempted murder of a police officer and aggravated assault.
On the morning of February 20, police say officers were responding to gunshots near Malcolm X Boulevard and Quincy sStreet in Bedford-Stuyvesant when they saw Funes pointing a gun.
Thirty-three-year-old officer William Reddin and 29-year-old officer Andrew Yurkiw were shot during a confrontation, according to authorities. They were treated at a hospital and released.
Funes is being held without bail.
If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
