A 55-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a private sanitation truck in Manhattan.
It happened at the intersection of East 92nd Street and First Avenue on the Upper East Side around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Investigators say the 58-year-old driver was traveling eastbound on 92nd Street when he made a left turn onto First Avenue and hit the woman in the intersection.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
The driver remained at the scene.
No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
