As Thanksgiving approaches, one non-profit group is working hard to make sure the homeless get a holiday meal.
Project Renewal is preparing more than 2,000 meals to be served at shelters, safe havens and other facilities around the city.
The non-profit also runs a program that helps the homeless and people who've spent time in prison rebuild their lives.
"I was incarcerated for 21 and a half years, I came out and I wanted to do something better with my life and something I realized I wanted to do was cook. So I got involved with Project Renewal, I came to school here and it's something that I love to do and it was not like ever coming to work because I love being here and I love helping people, serving food for people, cooking and all that," said Derick Lewis, Project Renewal's Comfort Foods catering Manager.
