Hundreds of needy New Yorkers received early Thanksgiving meals Tuesday thanks to Catholic Charities.

About 700 people were at an organization-sponsored food pantry in Harlem to stock up for Thanksgiving.

"Too many of our New York neighbors don't have enough food to have a nutritious Thanksgiving meal," said Monsignor Kevin Sullivan, the head of Catholic Charities New York. "And so today, for about 400 families Catholic Charities will be providing a nutritious, good Thanksgiving meal so that they can enjoy that day."

Cardinal Timothy Dolan was on site to lead the hand out.

Food pantries supported by Catholic Charities have donated over 5 million meals to hungry New Yorkers this year.
