City officials are taking precaution after the Islamic State militant group released a new video that mentions city landmarks.

There's an increased police presence in Times Square and Herald Square.

Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner William Bratton addressed New Yorkers Wednesday night, urging them to continue about their business as usual.

"NYPD has been working very closely with the FBI and our other federal partners," de Blasio said. "And I again repeat: there is no specific and credible threat against New York City."

"There is, as we have repeated frequently, no city in America that is better prepared to defend and protect against a terrorist attack," Bratton said. "We work tirelessly to ensure that, continuously upgrading our capabilities and our systems."

Bratton said the city is no more of a target than it always is, and that people should be alert but not afraid.
