A man who was found hanging in a holding cell in the Bronx earlier this week has died.
The NYPD says 49-year-old Samuel Reyes was pronounced dead Friday at Jacobi Hospital.
According to police, Reyes was found unconscious and unresponsive inside a holding cell at the 49th Precinct shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
The NYPD says Reyes used a piece of cloth from a robe he was wearing to hang himself in his cell.
Police say Reyes was a suspect in two armed robberies.
He was initially brought into the 49th Precinct on Tuesday.
