Fantasy sports websites FanDuel and DraftKings are under investigation by the State Attorney General's Office.

Authorities say employees of the companies may have used non-public data to win big money in Daily Fantasy Football games on other sites.

FanDuel and DraftKings allows users to draft a fantasy team to compete in daily and weekly contests against other users online for cash rewards.

According to the Attorney General, FanDuel has generated $2.6 billion in entry fees this year.

In response, FanDuel says they've banned all employees from playing daily fantasy sports games for money on any site and hired former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey to evaluate its internal controls.

In a statement released Wednesday, the company also said, "Based on everything we know thus far, there is no evidence indicating that the integrity of FanDuel’s contest was in any way compromised, or that non-public information was used for unfair advantage. They went on to say "It’s our job to ensure that as our company grows, so does our ability to ensure that our fans can be confident in the sanctity and integrity of every game, every day."

DraftKings is a sponsor of NY1.
