Half a dozen men are facing criminal possession charges in connection with a drug bust in Queens.

The Drug Enforcement Administration says federal agents noticed men unloading cardboard boxes from a tractor trailer and transferring them into a small U-Haul truck and van.

Investigators say they noticed a strong marijuana odor coming from the trailer and boxes. That's when they say they searched the vehicle and found more than 3,000 pounds of marijuana in the back.

It happened on Monday at around 1:30 a.m. on Ireland Street near 51st Avenue and Queens Boulevard in Elmont.

Between $200,000 and $300,000 were also seized in the operation.

The men are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.

If convicted, they could spend up to five-and-a-half years behind bars.
