The body of a second victim has been recovered from the site of a building explosion in Brooklyn. NY1's Natalie Duddridge filed the following report.

Friends and family lit candles and said prayers Monday, anxiously awaiting news about missing 47-year-old Francisca Figueroa.

The body of a second person was found in the rubble Monday, two days after an explosion rocked a building at 42nd Street and 13th Avenue in Borough Park.

"I hope she's alive, and I pray for her," said Nora, a friend of Figueroa's. "She has three kids. Single mom. A working lady."

"Sadness and pain in my heart," said Sara Diaz, a friend of Figueroa's. "She didn't deserve this. Nobody deserves this."

Friends say Figueroa styles hair at 5th avenue and 12th street in Park Slope, where a vigil now stands. But her apartment was on the second floor of the building were the blast occured.

Those who know her say she was in the midst of a move closer to her store and say the last time they spoke to her, she was going up to her apartment to pick up some last things. They haven't heard from her since.

Now, the focus is on identifying the latest remains.

"Can you imagine anything worse than being waiting here for hours, not sure whether your family member's inside that building?" said City Councilman Brad Lander of Brooklyn.

As cadaver dogs sniffed through the rubble, not far from the debris, flowers and candles line the street in memory of the first victim found in the fatal blast, 64-year-old Ligia Puello. Her body was found in the second-floor stairwell shortly after the explosion Saturday afternoon. It was badly burned.

Three people walking on the sidewalk outside the building, including a child, were also injured in the blast.

Five buildings have been evacuated, and nearly 50 people have been displaced. The Red Cross has stepped in to provide housing for those now homeless.

Meanwhile, all friends and family of Figueroa can do is wait for answers.

"I just thought I would come by bring flowers, say a prayer, and I really hope she's OK," said Franceluce Benson, a friend of Figueroa.

Traffic detours remain in effect as the NYPD arson and explosive units remains on scene conducting their investigation.
