Memorabilia from Sylvester Stallone's movies are on display and on the auction block.

Sandy Bishop is such a huge Sly Stallone fan, she flew from North Carolina to be here.

"I just think he's really an inspiring individual to motivate you to do better for yourself and to always work harder and never give up on any of your dreams," Bishop said.

Bishop was checking out items from Stallone: The Auction, on display through Wednesday at The Fletcher-Sinclair Mansion on East 79th Street. The auction will be held in December in Los Angeles and online.

So why is Sly getting rid of all of this stuff?

"Mr. Stallone watched from afar the John Wayne estate auction that Heritage auctions conducted about three years ago, and it was a fabulously successful auction. And he said the only thing missing was John Wayne. And he did not want to wait until he was gone to be able to share with his fans these items and also raise money for a good cause," said Donn Pearlman of Heritage Auctions.

Some of the heavyweight items here are a notebook with the handwritten script for the first Rocky film. The script could fetch $150,000. Then, there is the championship belt Rocky Balboa wins in Rocky II, plus his boxing gloves. They could go for half a million each.

"Those are probably the two most valuable items that will be coming up in the auction," Pearlman said.

Maybe you want to pick up one of the outfits Sylvester Stallone wore in the film Rhinestone as a Halloween costume for next year. He co-starred with Dolly Parton. He didn't play a boxer. Instead, he was a cab driver turned country singer.

Stallone's other big franchises are also represented: John Rambo's army jacket from First Blood, and costumes from Judge Dredd, Demolition Man and even Cobra.

Some of the auction proceeds will go to groups helping American veterans and wounded warriors.

"For the John Wayne estate auction about three years ago, the estimate was under $2 million. When that final gavel came down, over $5 million in winning bids," Pearlman said.
