The New York Mets are just one win away from the National League Championship Series after they drubbed the Dodgers in the first playoff game ever played at Citi Field.

The Mets were trailing 3-1 in the second inning when Curtis Granderson smacked a three run double that gave them the lead for good.

Granderson had a total of 5 RBI on the night.

Yoenis Cespedes put the game away in the fourth inning when he blasted a three run homer that gave the Mets a 10-3 lead.

New York went on to beat LA 13-7 and now take a two games to one lead in the National League Division Series.

The 13 runs are a new postseason record for the Mets.

"Our team is built on power. And so when we hit home runs we think we got a big chance to win and it's all about trying to get on base and have somebody up there that can hit something into the seats. And when we do that, we win games," said Mets Manager Terry Collins.

Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley did not play though he could have as he appeals his two game suspension for sliding into Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada on Sunday night.

The Mets can advance to the NLCS with a win tonight in Flushing.

First pitch is set for just after 8 p.m.
