Mayor Bill de Blasio is firing back against Donald Trump's presidential campaign slogan with a baseball hat of his own.

The progressive Democrat wore a hat that says "Make America Fair Again" during an interview Thursday morning on CNN.

It is a response to Trump's campaign hats, which say "Make America Great Again."

The reporter said the mayor told her that if you want to get a good idea across in this country you need to put it on a hat. In the interview the mayor also took aim at Trump's tax reform proposal.

"It looks like a plan that continues to reward wealth instead of work. It certainly looks like a plan where wealthy Americans do better - actually pay less taxes," De Blasio said.

The mayor says he still has not endorsed fellow Democrat Hillary Clinton for president because he wants to hear more about her plans to address inequality.

De Blasio's refusal to endorse Clinton has rankled some Democrats.

The mayor managed her Senate campaign in 2000.
