Two Rikers correction officers have been arrested for allegedly beating up a teenage inmate.
Captain Medzid Kolenovich and Officer Jean Destine were both arraigned for assaulting 18-year-old Ambirorix Celedonio last December.
Authorities say Kolenovich offered to settle a verbal dispute by inviting Celedonio into a supply closet to discuss the matter.
According to authorities Officer Destine followed both men into the closet.
When the three emerged, Celedonio's face was bruised and bloodied.
Investigators say Kolenovich initially reported injuries to his hands, yet received worker compensation for alleged injuries to his torso and face.
Both officers face charges including assault and falsifying business records.
They could spend four years behind bars.
