An Amber Alert has been canceled after police say they found a 10-year-old girl taken from school earlier this week by her parents who do not have custody.
Celine Hicks was reported missing after she was last seen around 1 p.m. Tuesday at Castle Middle School on Henry Street on the Lower East Side.
Police say she was picked up from school by her mother, 39-year-old Jacqueline Hendricks, who was traveling Celine's father, 42-year-old Carlos Hicks.
Officials say neither parent has custody of Celine, and the child lives with another family member in Manhattan.
They say the parents have some history of violence
Police have not said whether the parents are in custody.
