Some city students are getting in tune before they sing for Pope Francis next week.

Third- and fourth-grade students from St. Paul School in Manhattan will sing "The Prayer of St. Francis" for the pope during his visit to the school on September 25.

The pontiff chose his name after St. Francis of Assisi.

Students say they were excited to hear the news they would get to perform.

"I was shocked. I almost fainted," said one student.

"I'm kind of nervous that I'm going to see the pope," said another.

"I'm very happy because Pope Francis cares about the poor," said a third.

"I'm excited because I'm going to meet my favorite pope!" said a fourth.

The students are also working on a project about the first holy communion that they'll present to Pope Francis.
